Pre-Retirees and Retirees

My employer has many benefit plans and I do not know which would be best for me going into retirement.

Jeff analyzed what was available. We looked at my potential spending and we decided on an allocation approach to give me maximum flexibility.
How much money will I need when I retire?
Jeff assisted me in creating a realistic budget for my retirement years so I could readily see how much income would be needed to keep pace with inflation and not run out of money.
Will my investments give me enough money when I retire?
By making sure my portfolio is well balanced and diversified, Jeff enables me to get the best return on my investments at the risk level I am willing to take.
What benefits will I lose after retirement? And can I get them elsewhere and for how much?
Jeff analyzed my benefit program and we added long-term care and supplemental health insurance to maximize my retirement benefits.
How can I reduce estate taxes and probate costs?
Jeff suggested we work with an attorney to create A/B Trusts, new Wills and certain Powers of Attorney. We also split our estate to take advantage of the marital deductions.
How can I leave my assets to my heirs?
Through the trusts we established above, we were able to give away specifically the assets and income we desired.
How can I minimize income taxes while still maximizing my income?
Jeff suggested the use of annuities and life insurance to give us some tax deferral. Also, we used a tax-managed approach to our portfolio.
How do I monitor what we can spend and not run out of money?
Jeff checks our spending at each review meeting and we discuss future spending needs and he decides the best way to achieve that.
What if we have an emergency and need money as soon as possible?
Jeff sets up an emergency fund to spend. All investments give us access to our money within 1-2 days.
